Aggravated, Arrested, Pet Peeves

I decline to tell the whole story, other than to say I was escorted out of the local mall by four security guards for my bad behavior. But I will say that I do not understand the appeal of entering a busy shopping mall on a Saturday. People lose all concept of spacial awareness and I have space issues. I also have a temper that likens me to hell boy in that I am not likely to be polite first. Maybe afterwards.

I work from home so I don’t ever know what day it is – and I pretty much sit at my desk on the weekend too – so I did NOT do the maths on what day of the month it was (pay day) for the swarms of people that descend on the malls nationwide.

I am 4ft11, which makes a busy place even more of a nightmare. I also don’t touch people unless I have to… so trying to weave in and out of a crowd of them proves to be a challenge for my anger management skills.

Among my pet peeves :

  1. When people park their trolleys (shopping carts) at a 45 degree angle across an aisle.
  2. Groups of people who stand and talk in a pathway – like they are the only people on the planet.
  3. Arrogant people who ARE aware that they are making it hard for others – and keep at it – like some sort of silent passive aggressive assertion of power.

All three happened repeatedly today. I rammed my cart into someone else and it escalated from there. By then I really didn’t care as I had reached my max as far as my ability to reign it in. I have a very loud voice when I shout – and so did the three women who decided to get involved.

It was apparently necessary for me to be ban from that shop, the mall.

I asked for a copy of the mugshot. My request was met with silence, and a total lack of humour. At least I smiled for the camera? Right?

  1. Although I’ve not been banned, I have a spontaneous temper that has landed me in dangerous and embarassing situations. There are severals shops and pharmacies I will NEVER show my face in again. I do feel for you

  2. If only the world would practice basic manners, it would be a much better place. I asked a woman to move over a little so I could get by in my most polite voice and was answered with a lot of flailing arms, huffing and eye rolling. She’s lucky I didn’t run her over.

  3. Nope. Even if I could get you unbanned, I’ve got a sneaky suspicion you’d never go back simply out of principle 🙂 “Achievement unlocked” is a gaming reference. Check it out at wikipedia, search term “achievement unlocked”. View the “video gaming” link.

    1. In video gaming parlance, an achievement, also sometimes known as a trophy, badge, award, stamp, medal or challenge, is a meta-goal defined outside of a game’s parameters. Unlike the systems of quests or levels that usually define the goals of a video game and have a direct effect on further gameplay, the management of achievements usually takes place outside the confines of the game environment and architecture.[1] Meeting the fulfillment conditions, and receiving recognition of fulfillment by the game, is referred to as unlocking the achievement. Despite the usual connotations of the term, unlocking an achievement does not generally pave the way for future actions with the same achievement.
