Aggravated, Arrested, Pet Peeves

I decline to tell the whole story, other than to say I was escorted out of the local mall by four security guards for my bad behavior. But I will say that I do not understand the appeal of entering a busy shopping mall on a Saturday. People lose all concept of spacial awareness and I have space issues. I also have a temper that likens me to hell boy in that I am not likely to be polite first. Maybe afterwards.

I work from home so I don’t ever know what day it is – and I pretty much sit at my desk on the weekend too – so I did NOT do the maths on what day of the month it was (pay day) for the swarms of people that descend on the malls nationwide.

I am 4ft11, which makes a busy place even more of a nightmare. I also don’t touch people unless I have to… so trying to weave in and out of a crowd of them proves to be a challenge for my anger management skills.

Among my pet peeves :

  1. When people park their trolleys (shopping carts) at a 45 degree angle across an aisle.
  2. Groups of people who stand and talk in a pathway – like they are the only people on the planet.
  3. Arrogant people who ARE aware that they are making it hard for others – and keep at it – like some sort of silent passive aggressive assertion of power.

All three happened repeatedly today. I rammed my cart into someone else and it escalated from there. By then I really didn’t care as I had reached my max as far as my ability to reign it in. I have a very loud voice when I shout – and so did the three women who decided to get involved.

It was apparently necessary for me to be ban from that shop, the mall.

I asked for a copy of the mugshot. My request was met with silence, and a total lack of humour. At least I smiled for the camera? Right?

  2. Although I’ve not been banned, I have a spontaneous temper that has landed me in dangerous and embarassing situations. There are severals shops and pharmacies I will NEVER show my face in again. I do feel for you

  4. If only the world would practice basic manners, it would be a much better place. I asked a woman to move over a little so I could get by in my most polite voice and was answered with a lot of flailing arms, huffing and eye rolling. She’s lucky I didn’t run her over.
